Cavemen of Kzar, directed by Louis Lam, is a short documentary filmed in the fortified Amazigh village of Chenini dating back almost 1,000 years ago on the vanishing arts of digging caves into homes and granaries solely by hands. It is about several characters who were born and raised with their ancestral roots in this southern part of Tunisia, and their challenges they face struggling to hold onto their ways of life in the midst of scarce resources, weather changes, drought, and dwindling population due to exodus of the younger generations who are leaving behind the Amazigh traditions to more metropolitan cities.

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) Season 7 named it

the winner in the “Documentary Films (Any Length)” category
